The annual Hervey Bay Whale Festival celebrates the unique relationship between the local community and the humpback whales travelling and arriving in the calm, protected waters of Hervey Bay every year. An eclectic event to recognise the importance of the ocean to Hervey Bay and promote the conservation of the marine environment and animals that are unique and important to the region.
The festival stages events across the whale season between July and November.
